The Comment That Was Long Overdue!
Now concerning that comment that was made concerning an ex-member of a certain Scottish pop group that became massive in the 70s after he'd left the group. All who have privately voiced their opinion on this, well....... all I can say is....... I fully agree.
Which comment am I talking about?
The one in which someone said they don't know why this person is ever featured anywhere the BCR are mentioned. He voluntarily walked away, and was replaced by Les. He had little, if anything to do with their success!
Finally!
At
long last someone has actually said the truth out loud about this
particular subject. This person had nothing to do with the Bay City
Rollers success. And who got lost? What??? Who exactly was lost? Who? Who???? The answer is nobody. This person wasn't
lost, he left the group. He left the band for goodness sake! He wanted
to leave the group so he left the group. He wasn't sacked he left the
group of his own volition. And after he had left and Les and Woody
joined the Bay City Rollers, then and only then did the group become
successful after having been a failure. End of. Yes there were some
record sales but it was nothing major. With this person as lead singer
they were never going to be big. Never. And that's it. This person
really needs to get over himself and the fact that he failed in the
group. He needs to stop being jealous of the group's success. He didn't
make it. The band became attractive after he was gone and replaced by
Les Mckeown. That's life. Les was the better man for the group. Woody
was better than the person he replaced as well. (actually Woody was
better than both of them. So was Les) Like I said, that's life. This
person needs to just accept that it wasn't meant to be.... not with him
anyway. He just wasn't the right person for the group. He wasn't good
enough and let's face it did not have the looks and therefore wasn't who
the fans wanted. Tha't's just a fact of life. That's just the brutal
reality of the music business. He really needs to grow up and accept
that he didn't make it. Had he stayed the group would've continued to be
a failure. Look at the Beatles. Didn't they have a member who left or
was sacked and he missed out on the success of the Beatles? I can't
even remember his name. I believe his surname was Best. He had to leave
the Beatles and soon afterwards they became massive. Yet when people
talk about the Beatles they talk about the actual Beatles, not the ones
that left the band! I don't hear him with sour grapes. I don't see him
trying to steal the glory from the Beatles and insert himself within
the Beatles and try to pretend he was part of the Beatles when they were
successful (The Fab Four) when their success was nothing to do with
him. It is so stupid what has been going on it really is. I am so glad
that that someone finally said what needed to be said. The jealousy of
Les and of the Bay City Rollers success from 1974 is absolute
ridiculous. Some people need to grow up and realize that no one is
guaranteed anything in this life. No one is entitled to success. This
person was the singer at one point. The group were getting nowhere so he
wanted to leave and he left. The group was a failure at that time. But
then Les came along and with his looks, his personality and his lovely
voice (which was far better than the previous singer) he helped to
change the fortunes of the group along with Woody. Woody replaced someone else and that person leaving was a blessing for the group. With Woody's good
looks and personality..... well the group just had to become a huge
success. Had certain people not left many of us would probably
have never even heard of the Bay City Rollers! The girls preferred Les
and Woody and with good reason. Thank goodness Les and Woody came along
and transformed the group for the better.
And at last someone has said what many many BCR fans have been thinking for years.
